Memory is in the Bathub’s second-person narration enacts how dissociation feels as if you are watching or hovering above life or experience as it happens. If dissociation is a dominant mode, and for this speaker it is, this forced pausing in the sensory can be a rare inroad to embodiment, and presence. This poem mimics the slideshow format in photography presentation, brief snapshots building meaning through accumulation and association.
