Antiphony, which comes from the Greek Αντιφωνία, is a San Francisco-based poetry journal and small press dedicated to publishing innovative, genre-bending work by emerging and established writers.

Established in 2024, we are a fully independent journal and press run by an all-volunteer staff. We design and produceall of our books and issues in-house.

Every year Antiphony brings on two to three interns into our mentorship program which gives recent college graduates, who aspire to enter the field of publishing, the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in every aspect of running a journal and press.

Our journal, chapbook and book series feature work by a diverse range of emerging as well as well-established poets whose work seeks to question and challenge established poetic forms, voice, and style.

Some of the writers we are proud to have published include Lisa Robertson, Robert Kelly, Pierre Joris, Jared Stanley, Michael D. Snediker, Sam Cha, Christine Shan Shan Hou, Erik Manuel Sotto, Catherine Theis, Gillian Conoley, Julie Carr, Dean Rader, Michael Gottlieb, Maria Hardin, Jared Daniel Fagen, Carrie Hunter, Ashley Escobar, Matt Longabucco, and Rodrigo Toscano.
