The poems in the sequence Legible Congeries come out of a desire to eat language from within: a fundamentally destructive project, engendered by love. The gaps and spaces that are activated in this process are the gaps and spaces in the human body, which is also the form of language. Clipped utterances like abortive messages addressed to a lyric elsewhere/nowhere are strewn across the text. These are clues or signs; these are also remnants.
