Doublets, Tommy Murter

September, 2027

After losing access to narrative sense, how does one return to the story? To recount a violent act that was neither preserved through juridical nor individual means calls on the survivor-historian to create new or unfamiliar forms of re-presenting the event that shattered meaning. The pressure to remember urges nonsense, error, and futility to autopsy our post-truth reality and transmit the texture of experience while bypassing testimony altogether.

Doublets is a history composed of a splendid series of affirmations and denials, ludicrous cover-ups and disclosures, recombinant beginnings and endings, shocking slips of the tongue and carnivalesque gestures — weaving the attempt to recover the smallest unit of sense during an impossible quest.
